It mostly increases back pressure that is not to healthy on the engine.

It does me too. I once thought about fabbing a spring loaded flap that would seal the end of the exhaust up if it died under water but the spring would have to be soft so as to not increase the back pressure. And I don't know that it would be strong enough to pull the flap closed in water. I'm really scared to try it to because it would have to be under water when I kill the engine to see if it worked.

That would be neat if you could figure something out like that and make it work. I'm sure you could sell a lot of those.
