smoking

we went out ridin last weekend and i hit a hole on the fourtrax and it wasnt snorkeled at the time and it injected water and we had to flip on the back end.. i got it home changed the motor oil and cranked it and it smokes like a chimney whats the problem?

well it still has water in the engine more than likely, ive had to pull engine split case and deep clean the entire engine. Lots of times sand will clog the filter in the bottom of the engine. Helmut might know what else it might be, but id prolly prepare to do that. Ive also had to change the oil several times before as well, so might need to change it like 5-6 times.

ive changed it once idk it shoots out oil out the tail pipe

prolly gonna have to do a top end rebuild im in the same spot, have the head checked for roundness, check rings, and valve guide seals.

I agree, if you have oil shooting out the tail pipe, then it's time to tear it apart and check the top end.

alright i rode it a while today to see if it was juss sut and water and after thirty minutes of running it quit smokin and then start a lil again after a lil while i dont get it it aint my rings that was juss water and sut coming out tail pipe.

so no smoking now? do you have traces of water in your oil still, and OMgosh did Helmut agree with me on something

reason i say its sut is cause i reaved up three times and light lighter at tail pipe and nothin happened and it dont smell like gas or oil wen it warms up it tends to go away a lil idk we will juss keep workin with it

yeah just keep cleaning and change oil several times still
